Unedited Landscapes

PRE-PHOTO NOTES:
I want to focus on contrast and lighting. The photo from Ansel Adams had dim lighting but contrast was a large part of the image. By capturing contrast I hope to create value. Like Ansel Adams, I want to take pictures of landscape with peace and beauty as the main objectives. Another major concept I would like to recreate in my photos is lots of organic shapes.

PHOTO ANALYSIS:
Over the summer, my parents accomplished a dream by purchasing property in Columbia, MO. Because the landscape is so beautiful and picturesque, I wanted to capture the same concepts Ansel Adams sought for. The first photo taken shows a home located upon the property near a lake. The dark shrubbery and trees within the background creates a large amount of contrast against the light blue sky. The picture also represents repetition which may be found from the grass and linear lines from the trees both in true vision and reflections in the water.
The second photograph has been taken at a high focal point, following the path of the corn stalks. The corn stalks are at eye level and travel down hill to the point where one is able to view the tops of the corn. The photo reveals the concept of landscape, an image that portrays the natural environment. Line is depicted through corn stalks, lines in the grass from the lawn mower, and the actual illusion of a organic line as the cornstalks travel down the field.
The third photograph shows another focal point but at a different angle. The photo was taken looking upwards towards the trees, following the lines of the corn. The whole corn stalk is able to be seen at the bottom of the hill and as the distance furthens, the stalks get smaller. Another photographic concept depicted is the theory of organic shapes which are based on natural objects which includes corn stalks, grass, trees, and clouds.
